MATCH REPORT
Aston Villa 2 - 3 MANCHESTER UTD

David Beckham was back ni the United starting line up but there was still no Ryan Giggs. Also after Fabien Barthez's niggling thigh injury Roy Carroll was called up. The first half was quite dull the only event that really happened was Nicky Butt picking up a slight injury and was replaced by Luke Chadwick about 20 minutes into the game. United legend Peter Schmeichel pulled off a couple of decent saves to prevent United from opening the scoring. They went in at the break tied 0-0.
The second half was like a different match. Ian Taylor gave Aston Villa a suprise lead before a lack of communication between Phil Neville & Roy Carroll lead to Phil heading the ball into his own goal to make it 2-0 to Villa. Then with 15 minutes left Solskjaer powered the ball past Schmeichel to give United hope. Then Ruud Van Nistelrooy was brought on and immediately came up with 2 fantastic goals to record a famous victory that we'll never forget.
