This page is all about the 1998/99 season the year United done what no british team has ever done before "THE TREBLE"
On the 26th of May 1999 at the Nou camp Manchester United won the European Cup to complete a historic treble. This included the FA cup and the premiership. When you look back on 1999 Liverpools latest treble doesn't come anywhere near the brilliance of Uniteds treble.

Step 1: The premiership With Arsenal being the current holders they were the favourites to retain there title. But it all boiled down to the last day of the season. Arsenal were away to villa & United entertained spurs at home. We were 1 point ahead before 3:00pm. Arsenal went ahead against villa then Les Ferdinand gave spurs the lead. It was slipping away from us again but Beckham and Cole saved us for us to win our 5th premiership title.

The incredible 3!
Step 2: The FA cup This was arguably our toughest part of the season. With matches like the United Liverpool match at Old Trafford where Michael Owen gave them the lead. Then in stoppage time Yorke and Solskjaer put us through. Also that goal against Arsenal in the semi-final where Ryan Giggs nearly ran past the whole Arsenal team to score the goal of his life. In the final Newcastle were our opponents and after defeat in the final the year before to Arsenal they wanted it bad but Sheringham & Scholes made sure the double was complete.

Dwight Yorke was Uniteds top scorer with 29 goals. He was a key factor in us winning the treble.
Step 3: Champions League United started the competition in the group of death but they managed to get second spot. They beat Brondby home & away and drew all of their group matches with Barcelona & Bayern Munich. In the quater final they shrugged off Inter 3-1 on aggregate. In the semi-final we got off to shakey start drawing 1-1 at home to Juventus but in the 2nd leg we came back from 2 down to level and then Andy Cole slotted home to send us to Barcelona. In the final Bayern looked a different team to the team we met in the group phase. In the 6th minute Mario Basler scored a free kick to open the scoring. But in the dieing moments Teddy Sheringham & Ole gunnar Solskjaer made sure the silver jug was coming back to Old Trafford for the second time.

Andy and Dwight: A match made in heaven when it comes to scoring goals
